Publisher IO Interactive has announced a brand-new Elusive Target mission for HITMAN World of Assassination which features international superstar DJ and actor Dimitri Vegas. The upcoming mission features Dimitri Vegas’ likeness and voiceover work and it will be free for all HITMAN World of Assassination players later this year on PS5, PS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In the mission, Dimitri Vegas will take on the role of ‘The Drop’, a DJ turned drug impresario bent on controlling the scene one way or another.

The announcement was made during a surprise interruption to Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s set at Tomorrowland 2023 on July 30, 2023. Tomorrowland is the largest and the most popular electronic dance music festival in the world. Dimitri Vegas comments:
I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Hitman universe. It’s always exciting to be involved in creative projects and I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone reacts to my character when the mission launches later this year.

This will be the first Elusive Target mission that we’ve created in two years and we’re very happy that our passionate community and newcomers to the game will be able to enjoy it for free later this year as part of IO Interactive’s 25-year anniversary celebrations.
Elusive Targets in HITMAN games are unique and high-stakes targets that are only available for a limited time. These missions are accessible by all players and are free to play by anyone who owns HITMAN World of Assassination. However, the catch is that these missions give players one chance to assassinate the target and if they fail, the contract cannot be retried. This makes them highly desirable and due to their difficulty, completing these contracts results in unique rewards. The unique rewards associated with The Drop Elusive Target mission will be revealed at a later date.
HITMAN World of Assassination is a unique title that combines the best of HITMAN 1, HITMAN 2, and Hitman 3 in a bumper package of content that includes the main campaign, Contracts mode, Escalations, Elusive Target Arcades, and featured live content. It also includes a Freelancer mode which is a new way to play on your own terms. This mode combines roguelike elements and deep strategic planning with a persistent and infinitely replayable gameplay experience.
