Dragon's Dogma 2: How to Fast Travel

Lots of folks love exploring big games like Dragon’s Dogma 2 because you can wander around for a long time at your own speed. But some prefer to finish tasks fast or sometimes a time-restricted task may appear which would require you to travel around the map rather quickly. Either way, at some point, you’ll want to get from one place to another in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as fast as you can. So, what information do we have about how traveling works in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Is there a fast travel system in the game? Let’s explore in this Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide how you can move around the game world using various fast travel methods.

How To Fast Travel In Dragon’s Dogma 2?

There are multiple ways to fast travel in the game which are detailed below:

Ride Oxcarts

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, oxcarts are the main way to fast travel between big places. You can even close your eyes to make the trip faster. Also, the time in the game changes depending on how far you’re going so the farther your destination is, the longer these oxcarts will need to take you there.

Using oxcarts to travel isn’t like normal fast travel where you get to your destination right away without any problems. Riding oxcarts can be risky because you might run into monsters or bandits on the way. In addition, they cost gold, and you cannot use them at night.

You will need to find and ride these wagon spots scattered throughout the map. Some initial ones are unlocked with some starting story progression. Once you have discovered one, you can use it to move around be spending gold and waiting for some time as it moves around. You can hop on it and let it take you where you want to go. These wagons are mostly parked in important spots, so you can catch a ride to different places. You can even find them roaming on roads so you can jump on them on the road as well.

Use Portcrystals

The other method of fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is by using the Portcrystals found in nearly all major settlements across the map. These are giant purple crystals that give out a purple hue all around them. Unlike the oxcarts, you must approach these Portcrystals and activate them before actually unlocking them for use. Once activated, you can use them any time you want. Once unlocked, you can approach a Portcrystal and consume a one-time-use item called Ferrystone. This is one expensive item and one that you will not really start using until late in the game so for your early fast travel tips, you will need to rely on the oxcarts.
