After a lot of waiting, speculations, rumors, and whatnot, Rockstar Games has announced that the next chapter in Grand Theft Auto will be announced in December. As of now, Rockstar Games has not revealed whether the game will be called Grand Theft Auto 6 because the official Rockstar Games’ Twitter account only mentions it as ‘next Grand Theft Auto’. Still, this is very huge news, and we cannot wait to see what Rockstar Games has been cooking for the past few years. While the full release of Grand Theft Auto 6 might be a little far at this point, we are still happy that an official reveal is finally coming.

The news comes after Rockstar Games was celebrating its 25th Anniversary on Twitter with a celebratory tweet. Rockstar Games was formed back in 1998 and since then, it has completely changed the entire playground for open-world and action video games. It also launched one of the best video game franchises of all time Grand Theft Auto. The first GTA title was a top-down action game with an open world and plenty of action. Further down the road, Grand Theft Auto III made the switch to a third-person view, and from then, it has evolved into a franchise that is nearly every household’s favorite title.
The previous title in the franchise Grand Theft Auto 5 was released back in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and it has managed to travel across three separate generations of consoles including PC. This year makes it 10 years since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released but Rockstar Games has managed to keep it alive after all these years thanks to GTA Online which is the online section of the game and allows players to purchase a vast range of vehicles, guns, clothes, and their very own houses, warehouses, and drug empires. Over the past few years, GTA Online has received massive updates that have added tons of new content which has not only kept it alive for so long but has also managed to keep player interest high in it.
However, Rockstar Games has been cooking up Grand Theft Auto 6 in the shadows as well and now, next month, we will finally get to see what the next Grand Theft Auto game will look like. As of now, no additional details have been announced but we only have to wait a month more to finally see it in action. The rumors and speculations of Grand Theft Auto 6 go all the way back to 2019 and even before.
