Mimimi Games Shutting Down

In a surprise announcement, the developer behind the recently released Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Mimimi Games has announced its closure in the near future. This was announced by the developer on the official website and the main reason cited behind Mimimi Games shutting down is of course financial constraints and the slow growth of the genre of choice of Mimimi Games. If you are aware of Mimimi Games’ portfolio, you would already know that the developer is responsible for making some great stealth strategy games however it seems like the genre is not picking up pace like it used to back in its glory days.

The announcement details that Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew will be the final game by Mimimi Games and the developer will not sign up for another multi-year production cycle. Mimimi Games has been making games for the past 15 years and despite sticking to the same genre, the studio has released unique titles such as daWindci, The Last Tinker: City of Colors, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Desperados III, and Shadow Tactics: Aiko’s Choice. This also includes their most recent and final release Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.

Shadow Tactics Aiko's Choice

Mimimi Games details in the official blog post that despite the studio shutting down and not working on a brand-new game, all of their previous titles will be available for sale on all platforms, and Shado Gambit: The Cursed Crew will be supported for some time as well. The team is already working on a patch for the game which will arrive soon on all platforms. Another big content drop is currently planned for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew which will arrive later this year so fans who purchased the game have nothing to worry about. The team will continue supporting the game.

The developer is also not just abandoning all of its workers and is currently helping them out in finding other jobs in the industry. The details are available on the official website where you will find a detailed post on the company shutting down and how things will work in the future. Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew was announced back in January 2023, with a developer insight trailer dropping in March and the biggest island featured in the game was showcased later in May. The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
