Chinese developer and publisher Personae Games has announced the release of their brand-new survival sandbox RPG Age of Reforging: The Freelands into Steam Early Access. Age of Reforging: The Freelands is based on a medieval fantasy world that is inspired by the classics of the CRPG genre. It blends choice, freedom, and unique survival mechanics to deliver an authentic fantasy RPG experience out there.

As a reforger chosen by the goddess of fate, your task in the game is to venture out into The Freelands, a land devoid of law and populated by outlaws and other evil forces. The game features a number of different races each race has varying talents such as Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Grey Orc. Each race has a multitude of classes as well that gives players a chance to create their custom characters based on their own playstyle and visual liking. The game provides complete freedom to players to forge their own paths.
Apart from the core campaign, players will find tons of side quests scattered over various towns across the entire map. These quests will allow you to reach multiple endings and create a branching narrative that makes each playthrough unique. The game also allows you to team up with NPCs and they will help you out in different ways. There are 9 companions to choose from, each one offering a unique playstyle and principles of right and wrong. With their own missions and stories, the companions will offer their unique insights throughout the game in different scenarios.
The gameplay of Age of Reforging: The Freelands is inspired by CRPGs as you will use your mouse to control your characters on the screen. During combat scenarios, you will issue commands to your characters and use tactical triggers to configure the teammate’s behavior. Apart from defeating enemies, for your survival, you will also need to watch out for your hunger and fatigue meters which will determine your performance.
